Launch Reports
Use a Launch Report when you are preparing a new product or service and need to decide what content to publish first. Start with a description of the offering. You do not need a brand name or domain.
Create a Launch Report
When Launch Reports are enabled for your organization, choose Launch Report in the New Report Report Output dropdown, or use the Launch Report link on Recommendations. Analysis Only is a separate option; either or both can be available. In What will you launch?, describe the offering, its audience, the problem it solves, and any capabilities or market constraints you already know. The description is required; you can enter up to 10,000 characters.
The description is the only required input. Use the same planning controls as other reports: choose answer engines, add steering instructions, set markets and geography, add custom filters, change the topic count and report language, and choose buyer-journey or automatic-filter settings. Update compiles your instructions; Save to drafts retains the plan and its edits. Preview prompts before building to check the scope and question wording.
Market filters control the intended audience’s search location. Prompt language follows that audience and any explicit language instructions; report language is a separate setting. The offering’s location does not automatically become the audience’s search location.
If an existing organization helps explain the intended market, include it as a background reference in your steering. Research can use its public audience, positioning and price/quality context while keeping the proposed launch generic. The reference is not a target brand and does not establish the new offering’s features, quality or demand. Named alternatives can still appear as competitive evidence.
The builder shows the credit cost before you choose Build Launch Report. Members choose Request Launch Report and wait for an admin’s approval.
Plan a launch strategy
In Recommendations, choose Launch / category entry under Planning goal. Describe the proposed offering, then use Recommendation guidance to specify markets, audiences, constraints or approaches you want to explore. No brand or domain is required.
Choose Generate recommendations to create a coordinated strategy stack. It can include distinct focuses for different users, buyer needs or competitive landscapes, with market variants where local conditions warrant them. Expand the stack to read the overall strategy, priorities and deferred coverage, then review each recommended report’s scope and topics. Each market variant opens its own plan in the full Launch Report builder for compilation, refinement and prompt preview before you build it.
With Business strategy, you can also describe a planned launch or category entry in your guidance. When Launch Reports are enabled, the resulting stack can combine existing-business reports with Launch Reports for the proposed offering. Launch scopes retain no target brand or domain.
Read the landscape and whitespace
Launch Overview brings together the proposed launch, assumptions to confirm, whitespace findings, content to create first, and risks to watch.
Strategic Analysis explains the competitive landscape, how existing alternatives are positioned, their observed strengths and limitations, and how you could approach the launch. It distinguishes market evidence from assumptions about your proposed offering.
Whitespace identifies buyer needs or decisions that existing answers support poorly, with a potential position for the offering, confidence, limitations, and supporting answers. A gap in sampled answers is a starting point for investigation. It does not establish market demand or prove that no competitor serves the need. If the evidence does not establish a gap, the report says so.
Inspect competitor evidence
Competitor Evidence retains mentions, citations, perception, and positioning of the alternatives that appear in the sampled answers. Use answer-engine, topic, market and custom filters to narrow the sampled answers and competitor counts. These view filters do not regenerate the saved strategic analysis, whitespace or content plan. Open Supporting answers to read the questions, full answers, and cited sources.
Mentions count named occurrences. Answers mentioning shows how many sampled answers discuss each alternative. Citations count cited URLs attributed to that alternative in each answer. Perception describes how the answer presents the alternative: positive, mixed, neutral, or negative. These observations describe the sampled answer-engine landscape.
Use the content plan
Content Plan lists new assets to create in recommended publication order. Each asset includes its purpose, audience, questions to answer, suggested outline, and evidence to obtain. Where it addresses whitespace, it links back to that finding.
Launch Reports have no brand-score donuts, existing-page edits, simulations, or simulated lift estimates. The content plan establishes new content for the launch. Brand-audit PDF export is unavailable for this report type.
